Pandemonium’ Comes to Gainesville Middle School.

The advanced drama students from Gainesville Middle School for the Arts & Sciences will present, “The Great Pandemonium” at the Virginia Theatre Association’s state festival, to be held October 22-25, in Norfolk, Virginia.

The comedy involves Jarred Nusthorp (Aidan Ritchie), director of a dysfunctional group of actors who are having great difficulty with their technical rehearsal. One hapless event follows another as they struggle to put the final touches on Shakespeare’s “Richard III.”  Total confusion abounds, bringing much laughter to one and all!

Before competing in Norfolk, the students will stage two public performance at Gainesville Middle School, October 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. Ticket prices: adults – $6; students and seniors – $4; children 3-years and under- free. Lecture hall doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Gainesville Middle School Drama department is holding a yard sale, Saturday, Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the auxiliary gym. For sale will be costumes, accessories, props, sets and furniture, ideal for Halloween.

Money spent will be used to support the school drama department.

Visitors should use the entrance around back of the school near the loading docks and come in through Door 6.
