Kerfuffle Goes Kerplunk

A year ago, DC101 and Live Nation were promoting their co-sponsorship of an end-of-summer music festival in Bristow; however, Live Nation spokesman Jeremiah Xenakis confirmed there will be no Kerfuffle this year.

Touted as a bookend to its popular Chili Cook-Off that DC101 holds at the beginning of the summer, Kerfuffle has vanished from consideration.

There is evidence that the 90s-themed concert festival was at least considered, but ultimately both companies could not make it happen.

"It was proposed to our partners, but ultimately we did not come to acceptable terms on doing it this year," Clear Channel Communications (parent company of DC101) Program Director James Howard said.

Last year, DC101 told Bristow Beat that the radio station plans to make Kerfuffle an annual event that provides attendees with the opportunity to end the summer on a high note.

At the time, DC101 Assistant Program Director Dave Hennessy said, “This is the first year for this specific concert. We hope it continues for years to come.”

The first and only Kerfuffle concert was held at Jiffy Lube Live on Saturday, Sept. 15, and featured the bands The Offspring, Sublime with Rome, and Garbage, as well as Anberlin, Foxy Shazam and Dead Sara.
