The holiday season is over, but arts and culture are in full swing in January. This weekend, you can check out two concerts featuring Grammy Award-winning artists and producers, two modern dance concerts by regional professionals and the work of the best young artists in Prince William. Plus, for all you love birds, there’s a wedding expo!

The country band Scarletta will at playing at 9:30 p.m. at the Lion & Bull in Haymarket. Scarletta includes three uniquely talented artists who effortlessly meld their songwriting, performing and unique vocals with guitar and fiddle to create a storytelling set to music, produced by Grammar Award-winning producer Blake Chancey. Come out to see this band, close to home and enjoy casual drinking and dining at the Lion & Bull.

Dance Etc. School of the Arts presents their annual Winter Concert featuring faculty, selected student and guests performing to the music of American Composers. It all starts at 7 p.m. at the Hylton Peforming Art Center in Manassas at 7 p.m. in the Gregory Family Theater. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children. Then stay for the next dance event at Hylton.

Woodbridge Dance Company presents “A Coffee House Concert Collection” at 7 p.m. in Merchant Hall of the Hylton Performing Arts Center, featuring professional and pre-professional dancers. The WDC will present exciting new works in various contemporary styles of dance including modern, hip-hop, jazz and tap, all choreographed by local talent. St. Thomas UMC presents a free admission concert of Dove Award Winner, Grammy Nominee and Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee Dallas Holm between 6 and 9 p.m. Following the concert will be a southern fried chicken dinner and homemade ice-cream. The Merchant Family Gallery at the Candy Factory in Manassas is displaying their annual “Off the Wall Student Exhibit.” See the best visual artwork, including painint, drawing and photography, created by students in Prince William and the City of Manassas and Manassas Park. Visit between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. until January 30. The creative arts contest is sponsored by Lockeed Martin MS2.
