Weekend Beat: It's Time to Get Slightly Stoopid, Cause Some Rockstar Mayhem

Try as we might to find some family-friendly entertainment, it seems this weekend's Beat is all about the adults.

This is the perfect weekend to sip beer with friends, listen to some fantastic music, and if you feel up to it by Sunday, do it all again. All this running around may just have you feeling like a teenager again.

And with amazing bands coming to Jiffy Lube Live this weekend, might just have this sleepy bedroom community dwellers thinking there's no place they'd rather be.

Time to call the baby-sitter.

Friday: July 27- Cork & Fork

Your extreme adult weekend starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Cork & Fork, located at 7344 Atlas Walk Way in Gainesville. There you can try a’ Little Sumpin, with a side of Hopstoopid, Maximus, IPA, Lucky 13 and Dogtown.

Bernie from Lagunitas Brewing Company will be your host for the evening. Sample some great beers and stay for the free brewery giveaways! Event lasts until 8:30 p.m.

Saturday: July 28 - 311, Slightly Stoopid Concert 

Keep up the momentum going this weekend by taking in the 311, Slightly Stoopid concert at Jiffy Lube Live at 6:30 p.m., located at 7800 Cellar Door Drive in Bristow.

311 redefined alternative music, mixing rock, rap and reggae beats. Slightly Stoopid kept their cool with their reggae-infused California sound. You can keep your cool seeing two amazing summer bands, playing practically in your back yard. Tickets are $50-$76 dollars.

Sunday: July 29 - Rockstar Mayhem Festival 

On Sunday you, get ready to go back for more. What? That’s mayhem you say? That’s right party like a rockstar--a metal rock star that is--at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival. Bands appearing include Slipknot, Slayer, Motorhead, Anthrax and more, on four stages! $36-$76

On the Sumerian Stage will be Local Headband for Battle of the Bands Winner, Dirtfedd, Upon a Burning Body, Betraying the Martyrs, and Local Headband again.

On the Jagermeister Stage catch Saint Diable, I the Breather, White Chapel, The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Anthrax.

Then on the Main Stage see the headliners, Asking Alexandria, Motorhead, Slayer, and Slipknot.
