Weekend Beat: 'Twas the Weekend Before Christmas

Posted

...and all through the house, people wanted to get going, they were heading out. So tired they were of the mall and the shopping, "Let's head to a show!" said Mother, where the jingle bells are hopping. They climbed in the car, and went to speed away, before brother could utter, "Wait, Mom and Dad, hey!....What have we planned to do? I hope it's something neat." And without a moments delay, they got on their smartphones and looked up Bristow Beat. Finding alas the Mayan calendar was no more, the world still existed with more fun in store. They saw that this weekend there were concerts, events and ballets. They were lights blinking red and green and others to stargaze. There were plays to be seen that starred an out-going elf, who does so much more than rest on the shelf. There were Ogres on ice and trees that rivaled all nations. And even on our own street, might Santa come blazing, on an engine of yellow with our local heroes...so much to be thankful for, as we rested our heads. Mom and dad, turned the car around and tucked the children in bed. With visions of home town holidays alive in our dreams, we celebrated Christmas and all that that means!
