Developer Confirms Water Feature at Promenade at Virginia Gateway

Many residents have been requesting that commercial real estate developer The Peterson Companies installs a fountain like the one featured at Fairfax Corner at their new retail complex in Gainesville.

A representative from the company teased on the company's Facebook page that they will do just that.

"Many of you have expressed interest in certain aspects of the Promenade, so we wanted to let you know that there will be a future water feature available," they said.

The Fairfax Corner fountain features intermittent sprays of water, so children (and adults) can run through and cool themselves off on hot days.

According to an individual at the Gainesville site, the Promenade at Virginia Gateway's "water feature" will function in the same way.

However, this has not been confirmed by the developer.

The site plans for the complex that have been released to the public currently do not indicate where the water feature will go, but residents are speculating that it will be in the parcel of land near the front of the movie theater.
