Gainesville Regal Cinemas Opens November 7

Residents who have been waiting patiently for their own local movie theater will be excited to hear that the Regal Virginia Gateway Stadium 14 & RPX will open Nov. 7 with preview events the week before. Prior to the grand opening, to introduce the theater to the community, the chain will offer $2 movies, $2 popcorn and $2 soft drinks, from Nov. 4-6, with all proceeds going to local charities. These events include: Monday, November 4

  • Charity:  Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA CIS) of Prince William County
Tuesday, November 5
  • “Regal Salutes the Troops”
  • Charity: Disabled American Veterans
Wednesday, November 6
  • "Family Fun at Regal”
  • Charity: Youth for Tomorrow (assistance for at-risk youth)

The movie complex, located at 8001 Gateway Promenade Place in Gainesville, will offer customers a number of ammenities including digital and Real D 3D projection, high-back reclining stadium seating with retractible cup holders and a guest service desk in the lobby. Regal said that guests can purchase tickets for shows through their state-of-the-art computerized box office, which will speed up ticket transactions, Regal Express kiosks that offer customers fully-automated ticket purchasing or in advance by phone or through REGmovies.com. Customers will receive a free small popcorn and small fountain drink  with each paid admission Nov. 7 -14. The movie complex will show “Thor: The Dark World” at 8 p.m. on Thursday with a chance to win prizes. 
The Knoxville, Tenn.-based Regal Entertainment Group operates the largest theatre chain in the United States, consisting of 7,334 screens in 575 theatres in 42 states.
