New Primrose School of Bristow Hosts Grand Opening Event

Aspiring to make a difference in the lives of Bristow-area children and their families, Primrose Schools Franchise Owners Tom and Vikki Cheng will host a grand opening event for local families to celebrate the new Primrose School of Bristow on Saturday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The grand opening event will include school tours, face painting, a balloon artist, a scavenger hunt and an appearance from Primrose Friend, Percy® the Rooster. The Franchise Owners will hold a raffle among attendees for an iPad Mini and a basket filled with picnic essentials. Additionally, the school’s chef will prepare and serve snacks from the Primrose Schools’ healthy menu. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:15 a.m. to officially celebrate the opening of the school.

“We understand the complexities of selecting an early child care provider. There is nothing more important to us than ensuring our children are loved and cared for, while knowing they are receiving the best early education,” Mr. Cheng said. “We found that with Primrose, and we look forward to introducing Primrose School of Bristow to local families.”

Community Impact

Primrose School of Bristow officially opened its doors to students on Monday, July 6, and is the sixth Primrose School in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Adding approximately 30 jobs and $3.5 million in project costs to the community, the 12,000 square-foot school is poised to serve more than 180 local children and families.

School Features

Primrose School of Bristow features 11 private classrooms with wireless technology throughout and four separate and secure age-appropriate playgrounds to accommodate each stage of the children's early development. Following the guidelines of the Primrose Schools Thumbs Up!® Enrichment Program, three of the four playgrounds include equipment specifically designed to help develop and grow children’s gross motor skills; the last playground contains no equipment to encourage physical development and activity. Bristow also features a “splash pad” for spring and summer water activities. Furthermore, children will continue to develop their fine motor skills in the Primrose Patch – a garden on the school’s property that enriches school curriculum with monthly gardening and nature study.

Curriculum and Programs

The school will offer the Primrose-exclusive Balanced Learning® curriculum, which blends teacher-guided and child-initiated activities with a special emphasis on character development, for children 6 weeks to 6-years-old.

For students up to age 12, Primrose School of Bristow offers the Primrose Explorers after-school program, further shaping young people for success in learning and life. Additionally, as safety is a top priority, the new school also features the official Primrose Schools Safe School Plan, which provides guidelines to ensure ongoing safety measures are in place and parents and staff members are well prepared for emergencies.
