Old Bust Head Brewing Company Celebrates Grand Opening

Posted

Local craft brewery Old Bust Head, located on Vint Hill Road in Warrenton, will be celebrating the Grand Opening of its taproom and brewhouse August 15 to 17.

The Grand Opening marks the completion of renovations to the 1950’s post and beam warehouse portion of the brewery, which used to house secret military listening equipment. The warehouse is now home to a 200+ person taproom and beer garden. The bar itself is newly built from local walnut, but the taproom retains many details that recall its rich past.

“We can't wait to show people what we've been doing here at Vint Hill. Our state of the art production facility is up and running, brewing and bottling on a large scale amongst the aromas of barley and hops," Owner Julie Broaddus said.

She describes the new taproom as “pulling together the past and present in a way that we hope captures the spirit of Fauquier County.”

Old Bust Head has made a habit of incorporating Fauquier County anecdotes into the names of the brewing company’s many craft beers as well. Gold Cup, a new Russian Imperial Stout, will make its debut at the Grand Opening on Friday, August 15.

“Gold Cup is truly an imperial stout; big, thick, and dark, with notes of coffee, chocolate, and alcohol heat. It checks in at 10% ABV and 60 IBU,"  Brewmaster Charles Kling said. “We are excited to have Gold Cup join our rapidly expanding family of hand crafted ales and lagers.”

Other Grand Opening events include live music from the OFFSTARR Band, christening the taproom stage and sound system on Saturday, August 16th. On Sunday, baby goats will return to the brewery to entertain families with their playful antics. There will be on-going raffles for Old Bust Head gear all weekend.

Local food vendors Chef Beckles and Bad to the Bone Smokehouse will be on hand throughout the event to serve food to accompany Old Bust Head’s craft brews.

Many of our beers are brewed with a philosophy of balance and crisp, clean flavor making them enjoyable for the beer aficionado while at the same time being approachable for the beer novice," Kling added.

Promising a weekend of entertainment and celebration, Broaddus says of the Grand Opening, “We hope everyone will come for our delicious craft beer and for an experience that is truly local and authentic."
