Virginia Gateway Adds New Store, Restaurant

Residents are always excited to hear new announcements for retail and restaurants openings at Virginia Gateway in Gainesville. Developer Peterson Companies has confirmed that the shopping and lifestyle complex will welcome two new businesses: golf specialty retailer Golfsmith and restaurant Grafton Street. Golfsmith, who claims to be the world's largest golf superstore for golf clubs, golf equipment, golf accessories, golf gear, golf clothing and apparel, will reside in the former Linens & Things location next to Sports Authority. "It's more than a golf store; it's a '3-D' golf store with interactive simulators and more---it's the Disney Land of golf stores," Peterson Companies Marketing Director Briean Cargill said. "We are excited they are coming." While there is no firm opening date, the store could open early February according to sources. The chain currently has four stores in Northern Virginia. Golfsmith was founded in 1967 by a husband and wife who sought to sell custom golf clubs, and is currently headquartered in Austin, Tx.
Grafton Street has purchased the former location of the Bungalow Alehouse at 7380 Atlas Walk Way and has announced on Facebook that they will open around Jan. 22. The restaurant serves a menu that is comparable to the Bungalow Alehouse, offering classic American dishes.
According to their website, "Led by Chef Mark Linquist, our kitchen team serves up a variety of dishes using the finest, and where possible, locally sourced ingredients." The restaurant said they will  feature hand cut steaks, fresh seafood, brick oven flat-breads, and seasonal salads, as well as nightly dinner features.
