Local Web Firm ‘Fights Ugly’ with Annual Nonprofit Website Donation

Posted

ImagineDesign, a Manassas-based marketing and design firm, recently announced the opening of their “We Fight Ugly” nonprofit website giveaway. Each year, ImagineDesign donates roughly $100,000 to nonprofits in pro-bono branding and design work, concluding with this flagship event.

This contest, now in its fourth year, asks for residents and businesses of the DC metro area to visit a page of their website and elect a worthy non-profit with an “ugly” web site in desperate need of a makeover, or a new site entirely.  The winner, chosen by ImagineDesign staff on the criteria of community impact and organizational need, receives a web site design comparable to $15,000 worth of design work.

Admittedly, ImagineDesign CEO Patrick King says, it does take a good part of the year. “We don’t rush them during this process. With the limited staff and resources that are common in the nonprofit space, it can be hard to focus large, frequent chunks of time on large projects like these.”

Past winners of this contest include Center for Alexandria’s Children and ACTS of Prince William. This year’s contest begins December 7, with all entries due by December 20. This year’s winner will be announced on December 21.
