Delegate Tim Hugo has received the endorsement of the Virginia Education Association (VEA). The VEA Fund for Children and Public Education PAC is the political arm of the Virginia Education Association and is funded by voluntary contributions of Virginia Education Association members.

Delegate Hugo has received the VEA endorsement every election since he was elected in 2002.

"I am pleased to once again have the endorsement of the VEA, and I look forward to continuing our work together to make Virginia's public schools the envy of the nation," stated Delegate Hugo. "Education has always been a top priority of mine and I am dedicated to continuing the tradition of excellence displayed by our public school system."

Meg Gruber, VEA President, wished Del. Hugo every success in the coming election and stated that "The VEA Fund is proud to support candidates like you who measure up on the issues that most concern our members."

Delegate Hugo concluded by saying, "The VEA endorsement acknowledges my continued commitment to Virginia's public schools, and I will continue to work with all to ensure that our school system is considered to be among the very best our nation has to offer."

VEA is a statewide community of more than 60,000 teachers and school support professionals working for the betterment of public education in the Commonwealth. First organized in 1863, VEA has consistently advocated for quality instruction and curricula, adequate funding and excellent working conditions for Virginia public employees.

Hugo serves as a Virginia Delegate in the district that includes both Prince William and Fairfax counties.

"As Hugo has received the recommendation of the VEA Fund, he also has the support of the Prince William Political Action Committee of Educators," said PWEA President Jim Livingston. "This recommendation, along with others, should be a clear indication that the Education Association does not recommend candidates for public office based on their political party affiliation but rather based on their support of public education. PW PACE fully supports the candidacy of Hugo for the 40th District."

As the third-ranking member in the Virginia House of Delegates leadership, Delegate Hugo currently serves as the Majority Caucus Chairman for the House Republican Caucus. He is the Vice Chairman of the Finance Committee and also serves on the Commerce and Labor, Transportation, and Privileges and Election committees. Delegate Hugo represents Centreville, Clifton, Fairfax and Fairfax Station in Fairfax County, as well as Catharpin, Gainesville, Haymarket and Manassas in Prince William County.

Del. Hugo is also well-known in the Prince William portion of his district for his stance against the Bi-County Parkway.
