Posted
Jason Shaw
The Fairfax County School Board voted to give students extra sleep. Thursday night, members approved 11-1 a measure that will push back the start times in high schools to after 8 a.m. The board cited a growing body of research on the health benefits for teens, that they said "compelled" them to adjust school schedules. The initiative, which will cost almost $5 million, will take effect next school year.
