Onelife Fitness Extends its Weekend Hours

There are now more hours in a day to workout at Onelife Fitness at 7500 Limestone Road in Gainesville; the fitness center has extended its weekend hours.

“We have had numerous requests from members to extend the hours of our gym,” Onelife Fitness, Gainesville Manager Shawn Lewis said.

The new hours are Mondays through Thursdays 4 a.m. to 11 p.m., Fridays 4 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Staff at Onelife tracked high traffic times at the gym. They found that a great deal of people were frequenting the fitness center into the evening hours on weekends, and decided to accommodate those members.

“[We] decided it was in our best interest to extend hours on the weekends last month," Lewis said.

She said members have said they definitely appreciate having more time to visit the gym to workout on their own or a attend fitness class.

“The response has been over-overwhelmingly positive!” Lewis said, which only encourages her to do more for Onelife members.

We love being able to do things for our members that they will benefit from. The more we can get you in here to workout, the better,” she said.

Lewis said that as the membership of Onelife Fitness grows, the management seeks to accommodate them by making the modern fitness center as convenient as possible, fitting the busy lifestyles of community members who often juggle career and family, school and work, or multiple jobs and responsibilities.

“We take all suggestions of members very seriously, and if it makes sense for everyone, we take action,” she said.

Recently Onelife Fitness Gainesville extended its day-care hours, making the gym more convenient to parents of young children.

Onelife has also added many exciting new classes, including an Olympic lifting class on Fridays and Sundays, “for those advanced lifters” said Lewis, who want to take their training to the next level.

They are also holding a “Mind Body Day” focusing on yoga on March 22, the Spring Equinox.

Onelife will be giving back to the community with a Red Cross Blood Drive on March 28 from noon to 4 p.m. They encourage community members to register to donate blood via www.redcrossblood.org, and use sponsor Code: 05315394.

Finally, they will have a cycle-thon with cycle classes April 26 starting at 9 a.m. and continuing until 3 p.m. that day.

“At each of these events we have several of our local business partners helping, providing gifts and refreshments. Prizes are awarded as well as all sorts of fun things!”

According to Lewis, Onelife seeks to become a part of the community through outreach and events.

They also seek to stay ahead of the curve by offering the kinds of classes their members want, or introducing them to the latest fitness movements.
