18-Year-Old Police Impersonator Attempts Traffic Stop of Off-Duty Officer

An off-duty Prince William County Police officer reported to police that a vehicle driven by Joshua Robert Rosene, 18, of Manassas attempted a traffic stop on Sudley Manor Drive 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to the officer, Rosene, who was observed driving a blue Pontiac G6, turned on blue flashing lights which were mounted on the interior of the vehicle.

"While the vehicle was behind the [officer's car], believing the other vehicle to be suspicious [he] did not stop and called police," police spokesman Officer Nathaniel J. Probus said. "At that point, the vehicle turned off the blue lights and speed away."

Police arrested the suspect without incident and charged him with impersonating a police officer.

Rosene's court date is pending and no bond information was available.
