Prince William County Police responded 9:14 p.m. Dec. 15 to an alarm activation in the 10400 block of Wharfdale Place in Gainesville.
"Officers checked the residence and discovered an unsecured window," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "The window screen also appeared to have been removed."
Perok said that the individual did not make entry into the home and no property was reported missing by the homeowner.
