The Fauquier County Sheriff's Office apprehended a 15-year-old male driver, who led deputies on a chase from the 5100 block of Catlett Road to the Prince William County line Friday night. Deputies charged the driver with felony eluding, two counts of assault on law enforcement, no vehicle operator’s license and possession of marijuana. An 18-year-old male passenger was also charged with possession of marijuana. According to a spokesperson, deputies observed a small dark-colored SUV approach traffic safety checkpoint and turn around. "The SUV was observed backing into a guard rail and pulling forward, striking another guard rail, then proceeding north on Catlett Road," he said."MDS Wesley Frost attempted to stop the SUV, which continued north at a high rate of speed, refusing to obey all signals to stop." The driver drove over spike strips deployed near the 4000 block of Catlett Road and continued north.

"As the pursuit continued toward the Prince William County line, the SUV struck two marked Sheriff’s Office cruisers," he said.  "The SUV eventually came to a stop in the 3000 block of Catlett Road."
Charges are pending against another 17-year-old male passenger. The driver is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center in Loudoun County. The two passengers were released. "Two traffic safety checkpoints last night resulted in drug possession charges and numerous traffic summons," he said.
