UPDATED: Armed Man Attempts Robbery of Gainesville Pharmacy

Following an attempted armed robbery of the Gainesville Pharmacy May 28, police are searching for a white male, between 40 & 50 years old, 5 feet, 7-9 inches, last seen wearing a blue bandana over his face, dark-colored coat, blue jeans, and black shoes.

"Employees reported to police that an unknown man entered the business and approached the pharmacy area," Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Once at the counter, the man pulled out a handgun and demanded medications."

As originally reported, the men fled the businesses as additional customers began to enter.

"The suspect reportedly got into a vehicle and fled the area," Perok said. "No injuries were reported and no property was taken."

Police reported that the individual left the scene in a four-door maroon sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus

Prince William County Police responded 4:05 p.m. Wednesday afternoon to investigate an attempted armed robbery at the Gainesville Pharmacy.

While there is speculation about the incident,which occurred at 7963 Heritage Village Plaza, police have not released official details about the investigation. It is known that no one was harmed and the suspect fled the scene.

As of 5 p.m., police were still investigating the crime scene.
