Between Sept. 14 and 15, detectives from the Prince William Homicide Unit made several arrests in connection to the murder of Claude Jackson III, which occurred in the area of Old Linton Hall Road and Charis Avenue, Gainesville Sept. 12. However, one man is still on the loose.
“The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred in the parking lot of a nearby shopping center between the three victims and the suspects. During that altercation, shots were fired and the three victims were struck. As a result of the shooting, Claude Jackson was killed and a second victim was critically wounded,” police spokesperson, Officer Jonathan Perok said.
According to Perok, investigators quickly determined that the altercation was between acquaintances. They also determined the incident was an extension of a verbal altercation that took place a week prior at an establishment in Chantilly.
After the extensive investigation, detectives obtained warrants for the arrests of five suspects involved, four of which are in police custody.
The fifth suspect, identified as Alvin Jones, remains wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said. Anyone with information regarding this murder or the whereabouts of Alvin Jones is asked to call Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or 1-866-411-TIPS.
