Once again, residents woke July 4 to see hundreds of flags planted along Linton Hall Road in Bristow, Heathcote Boulevard in Gainesville and Route 15 in Haymarket.
Local real estate agent Bill Denney and his team of agents have been planting the flags every Independence Day since 2002; this is the first year that they expanded beyond Linton Hall Road.
 .
He said that each year the positive support they receive from the community motivates him to continue the tradition; it's his way of sharing the spirit of the holiday with residents.
 .
Several of his group members and 10 children placed over 750 flags Friday night.
 .
"They did an awesome job," Denny aid.  "Nice to see the youth taking pride in our Independence Day as well."
 .
Denny encourages local residents to help themselves to a flag.
 .
"Please grab a flag or two this weekend and have a safe and happy Independence Day," he said. "Happy Fourth of July to our neighbors from The Bill Denny Group."
