While the Blizzard Warning ends 6 a.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service expects snow and wind will end at midnight tonight.

"Surface and upper low will begin to move out to sea tonight with snow expected to end around midnight Saturday night," NWS said.

However, residents will still see significant activity throughout the afternoon and evening.

"Bands [of heavy snow] will continue to move west across the rest of the area through the afternoon," NWS said. "Wrap around snow finally shifts east late afternoon through the evening,"

NWS reports high pressure will build in Sunday with high clouds. While it will be brisk, winds will diminish as residents begin to dig out following the blizzard.

The beginning of the week looks to be calm and provide opportunities for massive clean-up operations.

The weather service projects a cold front to push southeast through the area Tuesday, but moisture will be somewhat limited and will mostly fall as rain.

"Seasonable temperatures Tuesday will drop below normal behind the front," NWS said. "Thursday morning is currently projected to be the coldest of the stretch with widespread teens."
