Chairman At-Large Corey Stewart expressed his confidence in Hudson’s appointment.

“Our Police Department is highly regarded throughout the country for its professionalism and commitment to excellence in all facets of police work. The next Chief of Police must be able to continue that level of excellence and also lead the men and women who serve and protect the citizens of Prince William County. Hudson clearly has the ability to meet those needs.”

Hudson thanked the Board for his appointment, saying it was an honor to have been selected.

“I am humbled and more than honored to be selected to serve as the third police chief in the history of this department,” said Hudson. “I am also extremely thankful and proud to have worked alongside each member of the Police Department and appreciate the selfless service they provide to our citizens.”

Hudson also indicated that he would run an inclusive police department, valuing input from community members.

“I look forward to interacting with citizens throughout the County to hear their input regarding the law enforcement services we provide. It is that input that is vital to our ability to continue the nationally recognized work that has been done here, and to meet the future needs of the community as they arise,” Hudson said.
