The Bristow Beat family just got a little bit larger.
Founders Stacy and Jason Shaw welcomed their first child, daughter Eva Isabel, May 6.
The 8 pound, 10 ounce baby was born at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital.
According to the Shaws, mother and daughter are healthy and happy.
"For once, words cannot express how we feel," Jason said. "We've been waiting for her arrival for a long time."
They are also grateful for the support they have received this past year.
"I marveled how Stacy continued to cover events throughout her pregnancy and into the days before Eva's birth," he said. "I couldn't get her to slow down."
The parents hope they can instill the importance of community in their little girl.
"We figure she'll be covering local news before she can walk," Jason said. "She'll be a real news baby!"
