Building 5 at Bristow Commons on Devlin Road in Bristow was vandalized by graffiti over the weekend.

In addition to the graffiti on the building's exterior wall and window as shown in the photo, a garage on the property was also vandalized.

This is the second incident at the location as the Walgreens drive-thru window was smashed with a small boulder Aug. 29. Police determined at that time, that the damage constituted an act of vandalism as the pharmacy was not burglarized.

Bristow Commons is requesting more police presence in the area.

“After the recent Walgreens drive-thru incident, we need more police patrol and community watch,” said a spokesperson for Bristow Commons.

Prince William Police spokesperson, Officer Nathaniel Probus said the department does increase police presence when there are multiple incidents of crime.

“Typically, with officers in the area, anytime that we find or hear of multiple accounts of vandalism, we do increase our presences and patrol there. We also encourage our officers to sit in shopping centers and public places in areas of increased crime or that has had crime had occurred in the past,” Probus said.

However, he said the area, which has experienced two minor incidents since August, in terms of crime, is still considered relatively safe.
