Prince William County Police charged Christopher Michael Robbins II, 19, of Bristow and a 17-year-old male of Gainesville with attempted robbery of an 18-year-old from Gainesville.

According to police, the teens were involved in a verbal altercation, in the Tenbrook Drive and Bigleaf Maple Court area early Tuesday morning, which escalated.

"During the encounter, one of the suspects struck the victim in the face and demanded money," police spokesperson Officer Nathan Probus said. "The victim eventually fled the area and contacted police."

The victim did not receive significant injuries, he said.

Officers located the suspects and detained them without incident; following the investigation, the accused were arrested.

The court dates of both suspects are pending; Robbins is held without bond, while the 16-year-old juvenile was released into the custody of a family member.
