policedoor700pxDetectives from the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force arrested Peter Bodunrin Adeniji, 67, of Bristow, July 25 on multiple charges following a two-month investigation into his medical practice, which offered patients an alleged cure for cancer.

The Manassas City Police initially received a tip that the suspect was allegedly operating a medical practice, Integrated Health and Wellness Medical Practice, in Manassas without a license.

The information received was turned over to the joint Narcotics Task Force for further investigation.

"In June, an undercover detective was used in the investigation during which they purchased the alleged medication from the accused," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said. Detectives obtained and executed search warrants July 25 at Bodunrin Adeniji's home, business and, a post office box, which the suspect used to ship his medications.

"As a result of the searches, medicine, additional ingredients to produce more drugs, and approximately $17,000 were recovered," Probus said.

The medicine sold by the suspect was turned over to the The Federal Bureau of Investigation for further analysis.

Following the investigation, Bodunrin Adeniji was arrested without incident.

"Information obtained during the course of the investigation indicated that the accused may have had patients across the United States and internationally," Probus said.

The suspect is charged with five counts of obtaining money by false pretenses, seven counts of operating a medical practice without a license, four counts of dispensing drugs without a license, and one count of money laundering.

He is held without bond; his court date is Sept. 2, 2016.
