Parts of Bristow, including Victory Lakes, experienced a power outage Monday morning caused by a Canada goose flying into a power line.
The outage affected 551 customers in north-east Bristow.
According to Dominion Power Spokesperson, Rob Richardson, the bird flew into a distribution line near Linton Hall School at approximately 9:15 a.m.
“Crews had to make the repairs. Everybody was without power for just about an hour,” Richardson said. “Everybody’s power is back on.”
Richardson called the incident of a bird causing a power outage “a fairly rare occurrence.”
Unfortunately, the goose did not survive.
