A car crashed into a front column of Bull Run Regional Library on Ashton Avenue in Manassas, Prince William around 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Currently, the library is still open.

"Some of the doors are blocked off, but we are still open, and patrons are able to go in and out of the exit door," said Darlene Hunter, a level 3 librarian specialist tech., working at the Bull Run Library Information Desk.

The library is able to stay open because the structural integrity of the building has been deemed safe, said Bull Run Library Temporary Branch Manager, Jessica Scalph.

"Everything is safe. We had a contractor come out and declare that it's safe," Scalph said.

Scalph confirmed that there were no serious injuries. According to Hunter, the young woman who crashed her vehicle into the library, appears to be in good health.

Prince William Police and fire personnel arrived quickly to the scene.

The update at 1 p.m., included a comment from temporary branch manager Jessica Scalph.
