Chantilly Man Robs 18-year-old in Manassas

Prince William Police arrested Chantilly man, Joseph Micah Rainey, 21, Feb. 14, for allegedly committing a strong-arm robbery in Manassas, last week.

Prince William officers responded to investigate a robbery that occurred at the 8200 block of Old Centreville Road in Manassas (20111) around 3 a.m., Feb. 4, arriving at 5:50 a.m.

The victim, an 18-year-old Fairfax woman, reported to police that she and Rainey, an acquaintance of hers, were involved in a verbal altercation, which escalated.

“During the encounter, the accused struck the victim in the face and took her wallet,” said police spokesperson, Office Nathan Probus.

Rainey fled the area, and the victim later responded to the Prince William Western District Station to report the incident. Minor injuries were reported.

Following the investigation, officers located and arrested the accused without incident later that morning.

A court date for Joseph Michal Rainey has been set for April 4, 2016. He is being held without bond.
