A large group of people loitering outside of an apartment building in the 7600 block of Cass Place in Manassas dispersed when shots were heard early Saturday morning.
According to police who responded to the incident at 3:09 a.m., officers located multiple shell casings on the sidewalk.
"No injuries or property damage were reported," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said.
Police did not reveal whether any specific individual was targeted.
