Cuccinelli to Lead Anti-Bi-County Parkway Rally at Pageland Farm

Posted

Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia’s Attorney General and the Republican Candidate for Governor, will lead a rally against the Bi-County Parkway Saturday, Oct. 5 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at 6312 Pageland Lane in the Catharpin region of Prince William County.

The rally is being held at the Pageland Farm, a property that belongs to Page Snyder, one of the founding and leading members of the citizen’s group “Just Say No to the Tri-County Parkway.”

Pageland Farm is also one of the properties most likely to be displaced by the positioning of the proposed Bi-County Parkway.

Co-authors of an email message promoting the event, Mary Ann Ghadban, Page Snyder and Philomena Hefter, praised Cuccinelli for participating in the local rally and standing up to developers.

Ken Cuccinelli has the guts to stand up to bad government and big developers. He has the guts to stand up for the people. He has the guts to stand up for history, property rights, safety and wise use of our tax dollars. And he has the guts to say so. We need a governor who represents the people, not special interests. We want you to be there to hear firsthand what the next governor of Virginia says about the Bi-County Parkway and the North-South Corridor. THIS IS OUR ISSUE AND OUR FIGHT FOR WHAT WE THINK IS RIGHT!  Please attend. We will be there and hope you can too. Then vote for the man who will stand up for us.

While many in the community are concerned that the Bi-County Parkway will displace residents, bring heavy truck traffic and lead to more traffic on local roads, others, especially those in the business community, have said it would lead to increased economic activity and connectivity between Prince William and Loudoun counties.

The Bi-County Parkway continues to be a much contested issue in Prince William County that is divisive even among Republican candidates and elected officials.

Those interested in attending can RSVP to 703-766-0635 or email Info@Cuccinelli.com
