Fairfax Girl Lured to Fight, Attacked by 17-Year-Old Gainesville Girl

policecrusierclosePrince William County Police arrested two local 17-year-old girls on charges following an April 9 attack on a 16-year-old of Fairfax in Gainesville.

According to the victim, she and two acquaintances met in the 14500 block of John Marshall Highway in the afternoon to watch a fight, which was allegedly to occur between two other juvenile females.

"Once in the area, the victim was approached by one of the girls that was supposed to be involved in the fight," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "During the encounter, the suspect used a baseball bat to repeatedly strike the victim, was able to get away from the assailant and run to a nearby residence."

Perok said the girls contacted EMS, who transported the victim to an area hospital where police were contacted.

"Officers were able to identify the suspect and also learned that one of the juvenile acquaintances of the victim had set up the encounter to have the victim assaulted," he said.

Following the investigation, police arrested two suspects April 15.

Police charged a 17-year-old suspect of Gainesville with malicious wounding and a 17-year-old suspect of Broad Run with conspiracy to commit a felony.

The court dates of both juveniles are pending. The Gainesville suspect is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center.
