Fire Ravages Nokesville Home

fireandrescue2-240x180Prince William Fire and Rescue crews were dispatched to a structure fire in a single-family home located in the 10400 block of Lonesome Road in Nokesville, Monday, September 28, at approximately 6:30 a.m.

"Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews found the home fully engulfed in flames. Due to the location of the home, a rural water supply operation was established for a water supply as approximately 40 firefighters commenced an exterior attack to bring the fire under control and extinguish it," said Kim Hylander, Communications Specialist for Prince William Fire and Rescue.

No injuries were reported. Fortunately, the home was currently undergoing renovations and, therefore, was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, the home was a total loss with estimated damages of $177, 600. A Building Official has posted the home unsafe. The fire is currently under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
