Five Northern Virginia men were arrested for sexually assaulting a Gainesville woman in Haymarket last week.

Detectives from the Prince William County Police Special Victims Unit responded to investigate a sexual assault that reportedly occurred on Chaffins Farm Court in Haymarket (20169) on Oct. 23 at 6:35 p.m. The woman said the assault occurred earlier that day.

The victim, a 39-year-old Gainesville woman, “reported to police that while she was visiting several known acquaintances at the above location, she was at some point incapacitated then sexually assaulted,” police spokesperson, Officer Nathan Probus said.

After the woman woke up, she went to a local hospital, and at that time, police were contacted.

Following an investigation, detectives were able to identify all parties involved.
