Prince William County Police are searching for the men who assaulted and abducted a 36-year-old Gainesville man July 27 in the 14100 area of Dave's Store Lane.

According to the victim, he was driving to his residence around 11:30 p.m. the previous night when he observed the driver of an unknown vehicle behind him flashing his lights.

“The victim stopped in the area above and noticed several occupants of the other vehicle approach him,” police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. “The men began to assault the victim and, at one point, one of the men cut him with what was believed to be a box cutter.”

The victim said he was struck in the head by an unknown object which knocked him unconscious.

“The victim reportedly awoke several hours later in the woods with his hands and feet bound,” Perok said. “The victim was able to break free of the restraints and contact police."

The victim could not describe the assailants.

Police had the victim transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
