Gainesville Man Charged in Reckless Driving Incident on Sudley Manor Drive

Prince William County Police arrested Brian Maurice Skates, 40, of Gainesville for driving recklessly on Sudley Manor Drive, running a traffic light and hitting cars before crashing on Vint Hill Road Friday around 1:45 p.m.

Police formally charged Skates for an unreasonable refusal to submit to a breathalyzer test, felony hit & run; two misdemeanor hit & run charges as well as reckless driving.

A witness reported the suspect was driving a silver Mercedes E320 sedan when he ran a red light at Linton Hall Road and Sudley Manor, rear ending and sideswiping other vehicles.

There were no reported injuries.

Police said this was Skates' fourth DUI in the last 10 years.

Skates' court date is Nov. 17.
