Members of the U.S. Marshals Service, assisted by Prince William County and Fairfax County officers, have arrested Johnny E. Bonilla, 22, of Gainesville for the murder of a Manassas teen.

Fairfax police originally investigated the suspicious death of Zavier O. Stringfellow, 19, of Mansssas, whom they found yesterday in a minivan that had crashed into a barrier off Chain Bridge Road in the Vienna area.

“Evidence suggested that the driver’s injuries may not have been caused by the crash,” a spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department said.

According to the Office of the Fairfax County Medical Examiner, Stringfellow died of a trauma wound to the upper body.

After further investigation, police charged Bonilla, of 13289 Catharpin Valley Drive in Gainesville, with murder around 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29.

“Police determined that the suspect and victim did not know each other prior to the evening of the incident,” they said. “They had planned to meet up on the evening of Friday, Dec. 28. Apparently, they met; there was a struggle and the victim was stabbed.”

InsideNova reports that Stringfellow was an All-State football player who attended Battlefield High School.
