Prince William County Police charged Daniel Lee Roberts, 37, of Gainesville with burglary and destruction of property related to a domestic disturbance Jan. 17.
A woman contacted police after Roberts attempted to enter her apartment located at the 8000 block of Lacy Drive in Manassas.
"The victim, a 35-year-old woman of Manassas, contacted police when her estranged boyfriend, later identified as the accused, attempted to gain entry to her apartment by kicking open the front door," police spokesperson Officer Ericca Figueroa said.
The accused did not enter the apartment and fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police, she said.
He was located by police Jan. 18 and arrested without incident.
Robert's court date and bond information was not released.
