Gainesville Man Encounters Home Intruder

Prince William County Police responded to an early morning home invasion in Gainesville Jan. 19.

The owner of a residence heard noises in his home in the 7600 block of Old Linton Hall Road.

“Upon checking on the noise, the homeowner discovered an unknown man in a separate bedroom,” police spokesman Jonathan Perok said. “The man locked himself in the room and by the time the homeowner made entry, the suspect had fled out of a window.”

Police report that a laptop, valued around $500 was missing.

“The suspect is believed to have made entry into the residence through an unsecured window,” Perok said.

Police are looking for a male, 5 feet, 11 inches, 160 lbs, with a thin build, last seen wearing a red shirt and green stocking cap. The homeowner could not identify the race of the intruder.
