According to Prince William County Police, Bryan Christopher Banks, 20, of  Gainesville allegedly tried to force his way into a Manassas apartment June 7, only to discover that he went to the wrong location.

"A resident of the apartment reported to police that an unknown man knocked on their door and stated he was with UPS; the man then attempted to kick down the door," police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok said. "The resident contacted police and the suspect fled."

Officers identified Banks as a possible suspect and he was apprehended at his Gainesville home without incident.

Following the investigation, police learned that he had gone to the residence in the 11900 block of Coverstone Hill Circle to confront an acquaintance over an ongoing dispute.

"This acquaintance did not live at this apartment and the accused were not known to the residents," Perok said.

Police charged Banks with attempted burglary; his court date is July 10.

No bond information is available.
