Grafton Street Restaurant and Bar, located at 7380 Atlas Walk Way in Gainesville, will sponsor a charity guest bartending event Thursday night for Lori's Army, a team that will walk for their fallen friend in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.

Lori Davis, who died of breast cancer four years ago, was 46 and lived locally.

Lori’s Army is made up of  Spring Bryer, Christie Byard, Adrienne De Los Santos, Viiu Loub, Brandy Masters, Erika Mendoza, and Mia Strickland. They will each walk 39 miles over two days this weekend. This is the fourth year that the group will walk to raise money for a cure.

"Spring Bryer, her husband Todd and many other friends of theirs have been great patrons of Grafton Street since we opened, and they approached me to assist raising  funds," Grafton Street owner/operator Justin Holohan said. "Todd and Spring recognize that Grafton Street is more than just a venue to drink and eat; it is a venue whose atmosphere allows local residents to meet, socialize and become friends."

According to Holohan, the team will serve as guest bartenders to raise money for their team.

"We will have door prizes, a 50/50 raffle and great fun," he said.

Holohan hopes that residents will consider Grafton Street a part of the community which is ready to help support local causes.

"This is the first of many fundraisers that we hope to do over time. Hopefully, we can raise lots of money for Lori’s Army!" he said. "To have our customer base become vested in our success is crucial to what we want to do here at Grafton Street."

The hours of the event are 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
