Prince William police responded to the 8600 block of Placid Lake Court in Bristow for reports of a residential burglary.
According to the homeowner, the burglary occurred between 5 p.m. Dec. 5 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 6.
"The investigation revealed that entry was made into the home through a lower level window which was forced open," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "A handgun, jewelry and money were reported missing."
