Photo Courtesy of Prince William County Police[/caption] During the investigation of a reported burglary in progress, a law enforcement officer was allegedly assaulted by Cathy Jo Hottle, 41, of Haymarket.
"Upon arriving, an officer quickly determined no burglary actually occurred and that the caller, identified as the accused, was intoxicated," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said. "While speaking with officers, the accused kicked an officer in the leg."
Following the encounter, Hottle was arrested without further incident and charged with assault & battery on a LEO.
The suspect's court date is Nov. 21 and she is held on a $20,000 secured bond.
The case against her was dropped by the prosecutor's office March 9, 2016.
