UPDATED: Sudley Sunoco Robber Gives False Name

Prince William Police discovered the suspect in the July 11 robbery at the Sunoco station, located at 7203 Sudley Road, provided a false name and identification during the course of the investigation.

Ryan Thomas Walker, 19, who has no fixed address, told police he was Anthony Deandre Griffith, a 20-year-old of Maryland after he was arrested on charges of robbing a 53-year-old Haymarket woman.

Additional charges of providing false identification to police and forgery of a public document are pending, police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said.

Prince William County Police arrested Anthony Deandre Griffith, 20, of  Maryland for allegedly robbing a  53-year-old Haymarket woman Monday night.

According to the victim, she was approached by an unknown man while she was standing outside her vehicle, getting gas at a station located in the 7200 block of Sudley Road.

"During the encounter, the man removed jewelry and a wallet from the victim before fleeing the area on foot," police spokesman Officer Nathan Probus said.

The victim received no injuries.

Police employed a K-9 to search for the suspect whom they located a short time later in a vehicle parked in the 10600 block of Automotive Drive.

Griffith was detained without incident; following an investigation, the accused was arrested and charged with robbery.

The suspect's court date is Oct. 19, 2016 and he is being held without bond.
