After a few morning hiccups, local Brentsville and Gainesville precincts are reporting that things are running smoothly, and volunteers are seeing a steady stream of voters.

This morning, Bristow Beat received reports of voting errors at Bristow Run Elementary School around 6 a.m. However, by 11 a.m., the precinct no longer had any problems.

At that time, at least one machine was changing people’s votes. Fortunately, voters have a chance to review their votes before confirming them. In this case, the vote had been changed from Democrat to Republican, but it is possible that votes were changing the other way as well, as had been reported to have occurred in Virginia Beach.

Roseanna West, Chief of Elections for the BRES precinct said that one problematic machines, which was recalibrated around 7 a.m., and after that they have not seen any problems.

At 11 a.m. BRES precinct volunteers said that things were running smoothly. The volunteers representing the two parties estimated that between 600 and 700 people had already casted votes by that time. There were no wait times.

Marsteller Middle School, another precinct that experienced problems in the early morning, was also processing votes efficiently by late morning.

According to party volunteers, in the early morning hours, Marsteller had several machines down. This meant longer wait times for morning commuters.

“As I understand, they got it resolved very quickly. After that, things went smoothly,” said volunteer Carol Hanna with the Democratic Party. Stream Hentai, Anime, 3D Hentai 3dpornbiz and Cartoon Porn.

Some voters reported being surprised that the county chose to utilize a manual touch screen for voting, in which a pencil, eraser side up, was used as a stylus. They also voiced concerned that the inserting of voter cards was not required in order to record votes.

Rokey Suleman, Interim General Registrar with the Prince William Electoral Board, said, “some voters may be directed to use a pencil on the machine because it is easier than using a finger and produces less errors.”

He went on to say, “The cards are not being used on the machines because they are not necessarily for this election unless a precinct contains two Congressional districts.”

According to Suleman, the county expects to be transitioning to new voting equipment in 2015.

At Brentsville District High School, there were no problems with voting machines. However, Brentsville District Independent Candidate Scott Jacobs, who there campaigning, said there had been several people who had to be redirected to a different voting location, most were sent to Patriot High School.

No members of the Democratic Party who were present at that Republican-leaning precinct.

In Haymarket, at the old PACE West school, some voters also experienced showing up to the wrong precinct to cast their votes.

School Board member, Alyson Satterwhite, who attended as a Republican Party volunteer, had maps printed out of the district precincts to help direct voters to their proper voting locations.

Although there had been some controversy over using the retired school as a polling place, since it also housed a Republican National Committee office towards the back of the building, that issue seemed to have been resolved.

“Prior to the election, I had a lot of concerns, but it actually seemed that they did a good job of Gainesville Magisterial District Democratic Party Chairman Bill Hardy said.
