Prince William County Police investigated a burglary Nov. 8 at a residence located in the 6700 block of Sutton Oaks Way in Gainesville.
According to the homeowner, the burglary occurred between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
"The investigation revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the home; entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured rear door," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Jewelry was reported missing."
