Residents who were looking forward to the opening of a new Italian-themed restaurant in the area will be disappointed to learn La Tagliatella will not open a location at the Promenade at Virginia Gateway in Gainesville.
The Peterson Companies confirmed that La Tagliatella, one of the original restaurants announced, has decided to scale back its expansion plans.
"La Tagliatella is reevaluating their recent US expansion efforts and has opted not to move forward with the planned restaurant location at Promenade at Virginia Gateway," Peterson Companies Regional Marketing Director Joanna Caputi said.
Caputi said the early success of their five other food service operators at the 300,000 square foot lifestyle center is encouraging.
"Bar Louie, Nando’s, Smashburger and BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse have all reported a very positive response from the community and we expect a similar response to Firebird's Wood Fired Grill upon opening this summer," she said.
The Peterson Companies is currently searching for a new tenant to replace the restaurant.
"Our leasing team is currently pursuing other options for that location," she said.
La Tagliatella has a location in Arlington, Va.
The Promenade at Virginia will celebrate their official grand opening April 26-27.
