UPDATED: Linton Hall Collision Flips Minivan

Upon further investigation by Prince William County Police, the driver of the white Toyota minivan who was traveling on Linton Hall Road ran a red light and was clipped by a black Honda sedan, who was waiting at the red light on Glenkirk Rd.

According to the police report,"The light cycled to red for the van and green for the sedan, which proceeded into the intersection. The van ran the red light and was struck in the passenger side rear tire area by the sedan."

The resulting collision rotated the minivan clockwise and rolled it onto it's roof.

The police report that the driver of the Sedan was not injured.  However, the driver of the minivan was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The minivan driver was charged with disregarding a red light.

Police and Fire and Rescue responded Saturday afternoon to a two-car accident on Linton Hall Road that overturned one vehicle.

According to police at the scene, a black sedan was traveling east on Glenkirk Road and failed to stop for a red light. As the sedan was making a left turn, a white Toyota Sienna minivan traveling south on Linton Hall Road was clipped. The force and angle of the collision flipped the minivan.

Prince William Fire & Rescue extracted an adult male from the minivan, who was not significantly injured, police said.

"At this point, only minor injuries reported," said Prince William County Police Officer Patrick Sunby. There are no details at this time whether police charged the driver of the black sedan.

Although the road was closed and traffic diverted around the scene, as of 3:45 P.M., both lanes were open.
