Local Teens Steal Jewels from Gainesville Residence

policecrusierclosePrince William County Police charged two local teens,  a 14-year-old male of Centreville and a 15-year-old male of Gainesville, with burglary, grand larceny and destruction of property, following a break-in of a residence located in the 6900 block of Traditions Trail in Gainesville April 18.

According to the homeowner, she returned home to find several items out of place. After hearing voices inside the residence, the homeowner immediately exited and contacted police.

Following an investigation of the scene, jewelry was discovered missing,

"During the investigation, officers were able to develop suspect information which led to a possible identity of one of the intruders who lived in the neighborhood," police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok said. "Contact was made and two juvenile males were later determined to be the suspects involved in the burglary."

Detectives from the Property Unit obtained charging petitions on April 29 against both juveniles in connection with this incident.

The court date of the juveniles is pending.
