A Bristow resident reported to police that an intruder(s) attempted to burglarize her home on Benchmark Lane in Kingsbrooke Monday.

According to the victim, the burglary occurred sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

She said when she returned home from work around 4 p.m., she noticed that the fence post had been pulled away  from the side of the house. An insurance inspector from a useful site was present the previous day, she said, and the fence was in good condition at that time.

"We are not sure what happened, but we can assume either the person or persons jumped and tried to get out by forcing that section of the fence in or force the fence in to get in; we are not sure."

However, she said the intruder probably came face-to-face with her 120lb Alaskan Malamute, Sedna, who she describes as protective of her space.

"I'm sure she was not happy to see an intruder; we are glad she was out there," she said. "This very likely help to avoid something major happening."
